About Hapa House: Tara Arume-Nitta finds artistic inspiration from her home in Hawaii and the “hapa” or mixed, Okinawa-Hawaiian-Japanese-American heritage of her family. Her work is a journey through cultural traditions, native plants and animals, and the whimsical energy felt while raising her young children on Kauai.
